TRB - September & October 2016

So i've been watching lots of booktube videos lately and this is partially inspired by the TBR shame tags. So this is a total list of novels I have set aside to read. I doubt I will get through them all in the next couple of months. But a girl can dream right?
This is also somewhat of a book ban, as I want to get these done before I start adding to this list.

Yes I know this list isn't insanely long, but I never keep to many books around or else I start to feel overwhelmed and read nothing at all. So that little anxiety keeps me from having piles and piles of unread books.

These books are in order from my most anticipated to my least anticipated. I am so behind with so many series that I want to start or finish, that most of my anticipated books are part of an existing series, companion series, or from a known author. But I am not really waiting on any of these novels (such as I have only read the first lunar chronicles novel, Winter will probably be released before I catch up...)

So I find doing this top 5 wednesday a little bit funny because I don't honestly have a "bookshelf" 90+% of the time, I just so happen to have one right now coincidentally but it doesn't have any books on it other than my library books because I don't own any books... Its more just a shelf then I guess? Which is what i normally don't have?

Books Read in One Day Tag

Books Read in a Single Day

I had originally titled this books read in one sitting but changed it to books I finished in one day or a single day. 

Obviously I mean each individual book for an individual day I did not read all of these on the same day. 

Often I will start a book in the morning read for about half an hour right when I wake up and then pick it up again at the end of my day just before bed and finish it. I have also read quite a few books in one sitting if it is a smaller novella.

Many of these I have finished on vacations so while driving for a road trip, waiting for a plane, or when I have had lots of extra time on a vacation and just lay about doing what I want; which is reading on the beach.

These books aren't in any order and I have included a few that I reread in one sitting (that I didn't read in one sitting or day the first time over) most of these don't have very many pages and or are junior high reads that I have picked up as an adult.

Series Review - The Chemical Garden Trilogy - Wither

I went into this book blind, I didn't look at goodreads, I didn't read the synopsis, and while I had heard the name I didn't have a clue what the book was about. I had also never heard of the author Laura Destefano.
I had my doubts about this book when I figured out that it was a dystopian which I love, but has been overdone so much with YA as of late. I was concerned that this would be another spawn of the Hunger Games. This novel had a much different tone, there was no finger to point for the situation, the lack of rebellion by single figure (small group) against government/ impossibly big powerful authority figure was refreshing.  The world captivated me, it was beautiful and tragic. I felt for the characters although a (small) downfall of this book was my inability to relate to the main character Rhine. I occasionally found her "voice" whiney is a very immature childish way. I found the author repeated information about her past and brother a few to many times (it would have been one thing if it was new information each time but it wasn't... for instance I learned that her lost twin brother Rowan loved to fish about half a dozen to a dozen times). I find it very frustrating that she never told Linden more about her past as I feel that would have made some very interesting plot twists. This was a little bit predicable in some places but the ending was a surprise. I will definativly be continuing this series.

Part 1 Animated Shows

1. Asterix, Rene Goscinny : there are a handful of "real people" films originally in french with a few translated into english, the same with a few Animated films. I would like to see them done in full as a cartoon for tv and have them stick more to the comics then some of the other movies did.
2. Redwall, Brian Jaques : again this was also started into a tv series but it only got through 3 out of the 22 books I would love to see it redone and finished. 
3. Wicked, Gregory Maguire : I really didn't like this book at all, but it would make a really good cartoon. Because as a show you would have to edit out the tediousness of the book. The base story would shine through
4. Fire Bringer, The Sight and Fell, David Clement Davis 
5. The Books of Blood, Clive Barker : These would be somewhere in-between films and a tv show, miniseries, each story being one or two episodes long and I think a couple of the stories would be told really well in almost a fantasia style (in thinking of "In the Hills the Cities" specifically when I say this) . I know at least one of these stories has already been turned into a non-animated film, although I believe because it is a full length feature they must have added to it (ive never seen the movie - midnight meat train)
