Read the Book & Watched the Movie
Stand Alones
Not all of these movies / books are honestly stand alone's but if I haven't seen/read both I am considering them as such.
- The Help, Kathryn Stockett
- The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, CS Lewis
- The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown
- Eragon, Christopher Paolini
- Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Shakespear
- Hamlet, Shakespear
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Road Dahl
- A Series of Unfortunate Events, Lemony Snickett
- My Sisters Keeper, Jodi Picoult
- The Lovely Bones, Alice Sebold
- The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy
- The Great Gatsby, F Scott Fitzgerald
- James and the Giant Peach, Road Dahl
- The Green Mile, Stephen King
- Carrie, Stephen King
- The Lightning Thief, Rick Riordan
- The Shinning, Stephen King This book had nothing to do with the movie and vice versa I would love them to do a remake using the actual story
- The Crucible, Arthur Miller
- Because of Winn-Dixie, Kate Dicamillo
- The Bone Collector, Jeffery Deaver
Series
- Hannibal Series, Thomas Harris - Red Dragon, Hannibal Rising, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal
- Harry Potter Series, JK Rowling My favourite is the first book movie combo, I did find that as the books got longer of course the movies just didn't or couldn't include all those details, but they still did an incredible job getting everything to match. I really found that the actors matched the characters in the book (huge pet peeve there, how many times has a blonde actor played dark haired character?!!?!?). I read all of these books before I saw any of the movies and I still haven't seen the last three movies yet
These Have Books and Movies but... Do They Count?
- The Cat in the Hat, Dr Seuss
- How the Grinch, Dr Seuss
- Winnie the Pooh, AA Milne
- Horton Hears a Who, Dr Seuss
- The Lorax, Dr Seuss
This is far from a complete list I didn't realize when I started this post that there was going to be such a long list.
