Bilbo Baggins, is a Hobbit and he is off on an unexpected adventure. With Gandalf and a company of Dwarves. To cross the many lands of Middle Earth between the Shire and the Misty Mountains will be perilous in itself. But upon reaching the Mountains the Dwarves wish to reclaim their ancestral home from the great dragon Smaug, and stealing the dragons treasured gold is Bilbo's mission. But that is not the end of the adventure because many crave gold and still the hobbit must journey home...
I was going to wait until December or maybe the New Year to pick up The Hobbit because of how exhausting the Lord of the Rings was. I changed my mind when I saw how short the audiobook was, figuring I would give it a try, and if it was better to wait I would just stop and pick it up later. Compared to the Lord of the Rings this was such a quick read, fast paced and action packed, fewer characters and places to remember. The more you know about Middle Earth the better the reading is, you understand the references and connections. Middle Earth has grown to have such a big place in my heart, I was reading them because they were classics but I fell in love unexpectedly.
