Book Review - Thirteen Reasons Why

Thirteen Reasons Why
Jay Asher

The story behind Hanna Bakers suicide, the 13 people who played a part, 13 events that caused her world to collapse.

This book has been on my radar since 2010 when I first read Wintergirls. With the new TV show it has gotten really popular and I finally got a look at the actual book, seeing how short it is was the reasons why I picked it up and gave it my time. I did read it in two sittings.
I think the book was written in the perfect style, it never explained what had gone on before Hanna moved to town, it never went into the home life or other lives of characters, even Clay we learned very little about other than his ties to Hanna.
I have personal ties to suicides and suicides attempts and the description of their internal self collapsing matched with what I felt from Hanna in an very realistic way.

I would not recommend this book to everyone, I feel like it could really affect peoples mental state. I think we can all judge by reading the synopsis if this book would be for us.
